2025 DoE EPSCoR Nanoscale Materials Summer Research Program

2025 DoE EPSCoR Nanoscale Materials Summer Research Program

The DoE EPSCoR Nanoscale Materials Summer Research Program at Jackson State University is focused on providing K-12 students, particularly high school students with the opportunity to perform research at the novel nanoscale materials systems which are forefront of material science leading to semiconductor technology and energy storage.  Potential project are based on topics of 2D semiconductor materials and their electrical and optical properties in Prof. Nihar (Physics) and Prof. Jerzy Leszczynski (Chemistry) research groups.  Available topics are: (1) 2D Semiconductor Materials and Devices, Field-effect transistors (FETs), (2) Polymer+2D Nanofiller composites for Energy Storage and (3) Simulation on Materials Science to discover new materials.
