Central MS Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic

The Department of Communicative Disorders at Jackson State University (JSU) operates the Central Mississippi Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic (CMSLHC). The CMSLHC provides prevention, assessment, and treatment services for adults and children with speech, language and hearing disorders.

The CMSLHC provides services to children and adults who have:
- Speech sound disorders
- Motor speech disorders
- Language disorders
- Cognitive-linguistic disorders
- Voice disorders
- Fluency/stuttering
- Swallowing disorders
- Hearing disorders
- Language-based reading deficits
Accent and dialect modification services are also provided.

Cost For Services:
There is a modest fee for prevention, assessment, and therapy services. The CMSLHC does not accept Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance payments.

Starting fall 2022, the CMSLHC will now enforce a mandatory deadline for clinical payments. If payment is not received by the due date, your scheduled appointment time for the current semester may be forfeited and you will be moved to the bottom of the waiting list for the upcoming semester.
